Offenbach House Ladbroke Grove, London

Main Project Info

A typical Victorian house with pokey dark rooms and a northerly, street facing orientation, was completely reworked to create an open, friendly, family house.

Key functions (family living space, master bed suite) were re-orientated to the south facing rear. Stairs and corridors were filled with natural light by simply opening up the ceilings to the rafters and allowing light to penetrate deep into the house through a glass floor.

Dark spaces in the centre of the house were put to best use as utility spaces linked to the rest of the house with a laundry chute.
